Furniture designer joins forces with reuse organisation 20/09/2006
 
 
Office space and furniture designer Steelcase has linked up with not-for-profit enterprise Green-Works, which provides schools, charities and community organisations with redundant office furniture.

Green-Works¡¯ zero landfill policy sees it take old furniture from offices and re-distribute it to others. Damaged or worn items can be remodelled or repaired at its in-house joinery, with remaining items distributed to art and drama projects for more innovative uses.

Steelcase UK managing director Mark Spragg said: ¡°Green-Works provide a fantastic service which allows organisations to deal with their surplus office furniture in a socially and environmentally responsible way. We hope to promote this service to customers all across the UK through our network of dealers, our sales staff and the rest of the Steelcase team.¡±
